Converse brand sneakers have been around for many many years. We’ve all owned a pair of the classic Chuck Taylor All Stars at some point in our lives.
Whether they were black, white, red, or pink polka dotted. They’ve made them in all colors and variations over the years and they seem to never go out of style. They’ve even made it on their website where you can design your very own Chuck Taylors with so many different choices of designs that it will make your head spin.
The Converse Company that makes the sneakers was created in 1908 by Marquis Converse and was originally known as the Boston Rubber Shoe Company. Converse soon became known as the official shoe of the National
Basketball Association. It was an unofficial crown that they would keep until the 1970 when other companies such as Puma, Adidas and Nike launched onto the scene, breaking Converse’s virtual monopoly. It was a marked turn for the company and although they continued with a good percentage of the market share, their popularity among athletes waned.
In 2003 Converse accepted a bid to be bought out by Nike and their operations were moved overseas. Although they weren’t making shoes in America anymore they still continue to be a cultural icon and their shoes can be found on pop stars and celebrities across the globe. Many musicians and artists have contributed to the shoe’s designs over the years including one called the 1Hund, in which 15% of all proceeds go to support HIV relief efforts.
What’s great is that with the technology of today, you can go design your very own special pair of Converse brand sneakers by tapping all of their past designs to create and absolutely unique pair of sneakers that fit you perfectly. Why not give it a shot and go design your new pair now.
