My 8 yo boy goes through shoes fast—Is it him or the shoes ?

I got him some sneakers from Target (Cherokee brand) when school started 9/5 and they are already coming apart at the sole!!
These were really cool shoes and fit well too, darn it…and I am trying to glue them back.
Does anyone have better ideas for longer-lasting shoes?
